A couple of weeks ago, Will Farrell was at USC to take part in their annual swim-a-thon challenge. We happened to be at USC showing SoyBlendz at the same time when one of Will’s people asked for some of the product to taste. We gave him a case and thought nothing more of it. However, later that day Will Farrell came by and said that he thought SoyBlendz was awesome! How about that!

Our newest, yet best flavor (so say many people), Peach Passion, was recently reviewed by BevNET.com. It received a wonderful 4-1/2 out of 5 stars! Here is the review, reprinted from here.
BevNET Review:
Soy Blendz has done a peach of a job with this bottled smoothie, which features a bright, rich peach flavor derived from reconstituted peach puree. There’s none of the grittiness you might normally find in a soy drink, only a smooth, highly chuggable blend. There’s only one complaint here, and that’s that the 230 calories seems a bit much for an 8 oz. bottle — but considering some of the other milkshakes out there, it’s a pretty good snack. The package has pleasing blue shrink wrap decorated with peaches. It’s perfectly acceptable, if not exactly a jump-off-the-shelf type.
Pretty good, except where they tackle the caloric content. SoyBlendz has a little less sugar than any of the all natural yogurt based smoothies put out there by Dannon, Yoplait, and Stonyfield Farms. Those companies also have reduced sugar yogurt smoothies, but many of them contain artificial sweeteners which we cannot use if we want to continue to call our SoyBlendz all natural. Stonyfield farms also has a reduced sugar version that is sweetened half with sugar and half with erythritol, a low calorie (0.2 calories per gram) sugar alcohol.

If little Emiko had not decided that six weeks ago she was ready to leave the womb, then today would have been her birthday. At least now she shares something with three grandmothers, as Emiko was my maternal grandmother’s name, Mae is Amy’s grandmother’s middle name, and she was born on my paternal grandmother’s birthday. Pretty neat!
Emiko has recently become really fussy at night, and starts crying almost immediately after we put her in the bassinet. Because of this, Amy has been having to hold Emiko almost all night while resting/sleeping on the couch. We just ordered a rocking bassinet in hopes that this might help since Emiko really likes being in motion. We’ll see.
